BUSINESS ANALYSTS (SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT)
Job description and direct responsibilities:
- Communicate with customers and other parties to understand cases and define business requirements
- Take a role in development and management of company product by identifying trends and improvements
- Participate in ownership and evolution of features and issues of product development lines
- Perform research and analysis of company products’ strengths, drawbacks and risks in terms of functionality
- Compile correct, clear, precise, structured, detailed and readable functional specifications
- Keep track of functional changes during complete project lifecycle and maintain up-to-date documentation
- Work closely with Software Development and QA teams to prepare software design and test specifications
- Maintain white papers, product sheets and marketing materials and participate in pre-sales process
- Follow company’s internal process for management of projects and participate in its improvement
Preferred professional experience - not mandatory, but probably relevant:
- Background in banking and finance, telecom, energy, general IT or software development industry
- Previous position as a system or business analyst, project coordinator, consultant or similar
- Experience with customer interaction and compilation of multi-source information 2+ years on full-time position in commercial or public sector
Personal characteristics of the close-to-perfect candidate:
- Analytical mindset - dissects cases and identifies the full picture, discrete key points and essence of problems
- Smart and responsive - demonstrates intellect, fast context switching and understanding of all viewpoints
- Dynamic and agile – able to re-arrange priorities
- Promptly and manage balance depending on situation
- Good communicator - presents information in a clear and structured way, both in verbal or written form
- Project closer - drills down to details, follows all objectives and pushes to achieve finalization
Certain features may be considered advantages:
- General or better than general knowledge in Banking business, familiarity with respective terminology
- Experience with formal methodologies and notations for functional system description (such as UML)
- Any software development practice as a programmer-analyst, business software developer or integrator
- Knowledge of some contemporary software design and architecture principles
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Computer Science or Economics
Routine requirements – mandatory by default:
- Excellent PC and Internet literacy
- Advanced user of word processing, spreadsheet, diagramming, web browsing and collaboration applications
- Fluent Bulgarian and English (verbal and written), additional language is a plus
