Provident Bulgaria is a fully owned subsidiary of Provident Funding Associates, L.P. a California, USA based company that provides residential real estate loans. It currently consists of two major divisions that support the daily operations of the parent company: Information Technology and Loan Underwriting. Provident Funding Associates, L.P. is one of the largest privately owned, non-bank affiliated mortgage companies in the US. Its business is entirely based on technology developed and supported in-house.
About the job:
The “Software Developer” employee is responsible for creating, testing, releasing and supporting web and client based software applications (primarily web based) to support the company’s needs. The employee reports to and works closely with an IT supervisor based in the US to ensure the accuracy and correctness of the work performed. The developer must be able to adapt to projects of various scope and nature and different levels of documentation. The employee will have a floating work hours and sometimes might be required to stay late in the afternoon to be able to support US releases. Frequently the developer will have to work with and support legacy applications created by other employees.
A “normal” work day may include the following:
- Review and answer cases and e-mails opened by IT supervisors and company users concerning application issues
- Find and fix errors identified by such cases and e-mails
- Work with IT supervisors on troubleshooting errors in runtime as such errors come up
- Work with IT supervisors on modifications and updates to existing applications as such are requested
- Work on short and long term projects based on specified priorities and timeframes
- Work with IT supervisors on testing and releasing short and long term projects
Position requirements:
All of these items are required and limited training will be provided.
A bachelor or higher degree in computer information science.
An extensive knowledge of the .NET platform based on at least 3 years of work experience. The successful candidate should be able to independently manage his/hers projects and applications in Visual Studio.
Experience in working with a shared source code repository, preferably Visual SourceSafe.
Extensive knowledge of the following programming languages/technologies:
C#, VB, SQL, HTML, JavaScript
Excellent knowledge of the English language
Ability to work evenings and late hours as required.
Gross salary offered: 2350 BGN
